Dr. Reed Maxwell, Ph.D., ABPP (Clinical) is a board-certified clinical psychologist licensed in New York, Kansas, and Missouri. He received his doctorate in 2017 from Binghamton University, a “public ivy” university located in upstate New York. He completed postdoctoral training in New York City with the Personality Disorders Institute at Weill Cornell Medicine as a research coordinator and postdoctoral associate, as well as with the Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research at Columbia University as a psychoanalytic fellow. Dr. Maxwell also provided psychotherapy to NYC residents with a well-respected group practice near Central Park.
In 2019, Dr. Maxwell relocated to Kansas City to join the faculty at University of Kansas Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry. For two years, he provided psychological services to an expansive caseload of urban, suburban, and rural clients from the heart of Kansas City to the plains of western Kansas. He also supervised the psychotherapy practices of psychology doctoral interns and psychiatry residents, as well as initiated research projects. Dr. Maxwell also presented training workshops and educational seminars for regional venues whenever possible, as well as taught advanced coursework for Kansas City University’s Health Services Psychology doctoral program.
Upon leaving KUMC in 2022, Dr. Maxwell founded Maxwell Psychological Services, L.L.C. in effort to provide maximally accessible, expert psychological services to residents of Kansas and Missouri. He has years of experience providing services via videoconferencing applications.
